You can deduct your alimony or child support paid on the means test, so long as it is court ordered. But, on your schedule J (expenses), you will have to list any amount that you expect to change in the next year. So, I would be concerned about the trustee thinking that you will soon have another $2000.

Also, the judge during the divorce might not allow an alimony payment that high if they think that it puts an undue burden on you.
