Chapter 7 and Moving during the Process

Would it cause a problem for my case if I moved AFTER I have already filed?

I haven't had my 341 yet. Should be in early June.

But I am thinking that I would like to move back to my hometown of Chicago to be with my family soon as my living situation where I am at now is not working. (long story don't want to get into it).

My lawyer is here and I filed my papers here in Wisconsin. I know I have to be here for the 341 date but what are the rules here? Should I wait until the 341over to do my move?

I haven't officially decided anything yet but since I can't get a job for a while and there any no job opportunities to speak of where I am now - there is no reason for me to stay here except the BK.

I moved out of the city I filed in and just had to return for my 341. The Trustee offered to transfer my case to my new district but I didn't want to add anymore complications. As long as you're there for the 341 it doesn't matter.
    12/05/08 - filed pro se
01/27/09 - case dismissed and closed - 02/24/09 - case reopened and dismissal vacated
    04/01/09 - new 341 scheduled
    6/02/09 - DISCHARGED!!!

thanks! I felt so trapped to think I would have to stay here through the whole thing. I feel like I have some flexiblity now - just in case.

Do you think it matters that I would be in another state? I know the rule about the states but I think that only applies before you file.

I can't recall who, but someone else on this forum moved to another state in the middle of his bk and everything still went smoothly. Personally, I would wait until after the 341 if you can just in case there are more documents that need to be submitted or signed, etc. That can all be done through the mail though so it's not that big of a deal. I mailed an amendment to add a creditor to the court and it went through just fine.
