It doesn't matter if you gave the numbers or not. They will run a skip trace to find out all of your family and neighbors.

One of my ccc called my moms house looking for me. The funny thing is they never left me a voicemail and when I went on their website, they have my home number. They spoke with a relative, but the creditor didn't give specifics. My relative told them I didn't live their, which I don't.

Has anyone ever received a report from LexisNexis?

Last fall, I sent away for my free report and I was amazed at the stuff listed on there. All in all, it was about 20 pages long. It's kind of like a credit report, but has a lot of information posted on there.

On my report, it has my parents, along with there address, phone number, house appraisal information, part of there SS number and a bunch of other stuff as well.

It also listed a ton of my relatives and there contact information as well.

My ex-wifes information was listed on there along with her family's information, but had no information about my new wife (been married 4 years).

If a creditor wants to find you, this might be the first place they look because this report has a lot of information about you that the 3 major credit reports don't have.

If I can find the information, I will post it here on how to obtain a free copy.

Discover card was calling my parents house as well looking for me. All they would say to my mother was that they were trying to reach me regarding my account. I have not lived there in 10 years and don't even know how they got her number. Then they started calling me at work and luckily I have caller ID at work and knew when it was them calling. Then they started calling other numbers at my job talking with my co-workers telling my co-worker they were looking for me. Soooo embarrassing!

I've received calls from CC companies for a NEIGHBOR two blocks away who I had never met.

In fact, they described his house, his and his wife's physical appearance, the make and color of their vehicle and asked me to go knock on his door.

              No Joke!

I was mortified, when I began to consider bk, to think MY neighbors might receive such a call.

I don't remember who the creditor was, but it was one of the biggies, CITI or MBNA or someone.

I later DID meet him, and he is just the nicest fella you could know. I also learned a bit of his story and told him mine. He is a retired man and a 40 year military vet who had met a con-man golf-pro/publisher. The man talked my neighbor into believing that he (the neighbor) could be the next Tiger Woods of the publishing world. He convinced my neighbor to pay 50k for a few thousand (badly) self-published books that would supposedly vault him to the tops of the bestseller lists. All his dreams would come true.

Of course nothing like that happened.

The conman exited with the money after delivering a couple pallets of horrendously produced and edited books to his house. At least he got the books, I guess.

And I got the phone call.

I never did mention it to him, though. I felt terrible for him.

Under the FDCPA, they would have to stop if you sent a cease and desist. However, the FDCPA only legally applies to "third party" collectors, not the original creditor. Most major creditors, however, make it a company policy to adopt the FDCPA into their own guidelines. I've worked for HSBC and Capital One, and they adopted the FDCPA. Just tell them in writing that they no longer need to do "locator" phone calls on you, or skip tracing, as the # and address they have on file for you is valid. You can try to cease and desist them with the exception of U.S. Postal Mail in the same letter, and there's a very good chance they will follow it.

Also, depending on what is being said about you or the nature of the call when they are calling your neighbors/friends/relatives, you may have a case of illegal third-party disclosure on your hands.

Just keep answering and tell them you will mail it.

Tell them again in a couple of days you are sorry and you will mail it.

As long as they speak with you they have no reason to call others looking for you.
