A direct loan from William Ford is also a great way to lower your payments while things are tight for you. If you select the income contingent plan, the payment will be tied to your income level.

You can go online to William Ford and there is a calculator that will estimate your payments for their various payment plans ( they have graduated, IC, extended, etc)

Also, while you are barely making it, ask to have your loans put in a hardship forebearance, you might also qualify for a hardship deferment. You can get 6 months of relief from payments with a forbearance. That will help you for a bit to make your income stretch.

Sorry you are having trouble, it is hard out there, but with a little perseverance, you can do it.

I have been shopping at the 99 cent store for things like shampoo, staples, etc. I bought this huge bottle of great shampoo they sell at costco for 12.00/btl for 99 cents! Toilet paper and papertowels are super cheap there as well, plus things like rice, pasta are dirt cheap.

And don't get me started on the candy!

Hang in there! Did you file yet?[/QUOTE]

yeah, i filed last year and discharged a long time ago. i never knew my life would end up so messed up, but when my dad died unexpectedly, and my moms trust was stolen from her, that sealed my doom. my entire inheritance was stolen, 300 thousand dollars. i'm having a hard time getting over this. according to social security, i have to work until i'm 72 to get 1600 dollars a month. ha fat chance. i'm a bit depressed myself.
