I'll bet it will be fine. I wouldn't think they could take any of your money once you've filed.

JMO and experience here....
Our lawyer told us to switch immediately. He said that even though they are not supposed to "dip their fingers in the bowl," doesn't mean that they won't try. Especially now when bankruptcies are up and the banks are hurting. Plus...if they freeze your accounts...you have no access to your money until it gets sorted out. We had a friend that this happened to and it took almost a month to get her money out. She had to beg and borrow to get money for groceries. And she couldn't get her direct deposit diverted in time...so 2 paychecks went into the account that she could not access!
Think about what you would do without access to your checking account. It really is better to get a clean, fresh start...somewhere else. You may have had them for years...but we had that relationship with a cc and once we couldn't pay...it was all downhill from there. Threatening letters and phone calls...no payment plans offered...wouldn't even consider a settlement.
Do you really want to wait this out? My answer...no way. Take the money and run to another bank. You are filing bk to get a fresh start. Start there.

I would get the money out ASAP. My attorney warned me to, as somewhere they will have an account clause authorizing them to hold funds in one account as collateral for the others. All banks added these clauses a few years ago. I would go to the ATM, and pull your positive projected balance out, leaving about $20.

I agree with the others who said motor out ASAP. I don't understand why your attorney would want you to chance it.
Even with the filing, I don't understand how the situation is really any different normally. Set-off right is usually in the literature you receive when you open the account. I've even heard about banks doing this after a debt is actually discharged in bankruptcy.
Don't wait. Move that money out fast.
