I wanted to post and introduce myself to everyone. I am preparing to file bankruptcy in AZ in the next few months. Please feel free to comment and give advice on my situation.

I stopped paying my mortgage and my truck in April. I am currently looking for a rental home while my credit is good and I have a job, my score is a 731, my husband has a 773.

My husband lost his job the week before christmas. I took a pay cut of $1000/month last May. Lost my job in Feb, took another job for less pay than my reduced salary in Feb.

We are able to barely make the bills right now with my husband doing side work and my new salary. We are unable to save any money and use our credit cards to supplement what we don't have. The new job is going slow so I think we should rent before I lose it too. The house is a 30 year fixed loan with 20% down and I am still underwater by $100,000. Both my vehicles are 2006 with high miles and underwater by 10-15k each. Credit card balances are less than 10K.

I used the cc over the weekend for the last time and plan to wait 3 months before filing. I plan to replace my truck with an older model and pay cash for it from the $$ received for selling our paid off mountain bikes and motorcycles earlier this year on Craigslist. I also plan to obtain an attorney after we move, I don't want anything to appear pre-planned....

    Welcome to the forum!

Don't worry about anything appearing pre-planned....it is perfectly acceptable to plan your bankruptcy. In fact, it is the intelligent thing to do.

I am not an attorney. None of my advice is legal advice in any way..
