credit cards after bk

quick question. when are we allowed to get a credit card after chap 7 .....today is exactly 60 days from my 341, im not sure if officially discharged, but i have an offer to a real small limit credit card. i want it to establish credit again since i have no car payment or mortgage. can i take it? or is there a time frame, or do i have to be discharged first?

You need to be discharged first. Even though your 60 days are up, you still need to wait for the actual discharge.

I'm kind of new to this forum but been reading alot from it & other sites..
apparently, chap 7's get better offers then so-so non-br's these days cause the creditor knows they have atleast 7 yrs b-4 you can file again. My husband (w/my help) has maintained pretty good credit (720) but can't get a new card anywhere & existing cards are reducing the line. No BR's & clean credit but I think & WOULD LOVE OPINIONS, that post discharge applicants might have a better chance?

Lawyer said to always try and get secured credit cards. He said these will build your credit back up and they allow you to have a limit based on an amount deposited by you.

This is a concern for me. I never want to pay interest again (I want to EARN it!), but we are not in our forever home and will want to buy another house in the future. We'll need to restore good credit.

I was wondering if we need to get a cc to build credit fast, or will a car payment and student loans be enough?

car payments good but from what i understand credit cards are best, since revolving credit. also i heard credit lenders are looking for at least 3 good sources of credit.

Then I will need to find another way to do it because I don't ever intend to own a credit card again to pay interest to any bank. That chapter of my life is over.
