    Starting to get nervous

I go to my attroney Thru. the 23rd. I am working all weekend and next week up to my appt. I think I have everything ready but am so afraid of missing something or doing something wrong.

I have to have this go through. I am buried in debt and there is no way I can dig out of this. I am being so careful. I had to close 3 bank accounts at a bank I used to use. They have credit lines that I used for overdraft protection. These credit lines will be part of the BK. I haven't used them for at least 4 months and when they kicked in it was due to interest or automatic payments ( for payments to the credit line) they took out. I didn't close them before because I didn't think I could with the credit lines still needing to be paid off.

Then I found out that I could close them by another bank employee. So over the last few weeks I have gotten them all closed. In each of the accounts I could have gotten money back. I instead told them on each account to put it towards, make a payment to the credit line. I did it that way because it was money that had come from the credit line and I didn't want a Trustee to think I was trying to get money from it.

I am just so scared that something will come up that will mess this up. I have all my business transactions well documented with boxes and folders of reciepts. I have mileage logs documenting all my mileage. I have a payment agreement with my utility company showing the payment plan that I have set up with them to pay off what I couldn't pay over the winter.

I just don't know what else to do to show them I really need this.

    It's natural to be nervous.
    Lord knows I was.
Go in with a list of your debt and debtors, and your income.
Your first meeting is not the end all be all.
You can come back with any info you may have missed, you can give some rough figures.
But if you aren't close, you probably won't get a difinitive recommendation at that meeting.
    No worries.
Get whatever else the attorney requires and go back.
    He/she is on your side.
    Don't be overly nervous.

One thing to look forward to is that you are one step closer to ending this chapter in your life (no pun intended!) I was nervous too, I still am, but I felt so much better after I talked to my lawyer. If your lawyer dosn't make you feel confident, find another one. The one rule I have adopted since I started this process is, I don't make any financial decisions without consulting with my attorney first. I run everything by him, and he is great about getting back to me. I typically contact him by email and he always gets back to me the same day. Good luck, relax!

Thanks for the encouragement. I will feel better after I meet with him on Thru. He sits down with me and we fill out the paperwork together. I can email him and he says on his website he even transfers his phone from his office to his cell phone and takes calls when he can. He says that sometimes just a word or two will help calm someone down on the off hours.

He attends the 341 meeting with me. When I asked the first attroney I went and visited with in person if he went to the 341 meeting with me, he never answered the question back. The attroney I am going to go with is flat fee. The first attroney takes payments but the more I think about it that almost makes me wonder if he does that to drum up BK business because most of them in my area want the money up front. You can get your BK started with just $300. with him. I have to have my money up front with the one I chose but again I feel more confident with him.

So I do feel better about my choice of going to the attroney I am going to use. The first one I thought I was going to use when I looked up his crendiatials, agriculture law was a biggie for him, BK was listed and over 25 years ago he worked for a year or so with a BK judge but I just didn't know about him. Like I said he only picked and choosed what questions to answer when I emailed hiim after I saw him in person.

I know I am rambling but I am just so nervous. I have everything ready and just have to keep updating for my small business. I am just keeping my monthly spreadsheets up to date and will print it out right before I go meet with him on Thru.

Its okay to ramble, and it's okay to be nervous, it's okay to be stressed out. This is a new and scarey experience. I know I'm nervous.

Sounds like you did your homework in selecting an attorney! See you are doing great already.
