So, we've retained an atty and we have a thick packet of info to fill out. Our next meeting is to file and that's in 2 weeks. When I left, I thought the packet was all it took to file. I'm now realizing as I fill it out that it looks more like an info packet for the atty and this isn't at all for the trustee. So, now I'm assuming that the atty uses this info and files us accordingly and I'll get a more official packet for the courts from the trustee at some point in between the filing and the 341? Or am I wrong and this info I fill out gets passed on to the trustee and courts and this is all I have to fill out? Do we or the atty fill out the official forms? btw....it includes making a list of everything from our household goods and personal belongings to listing all of our creditors and the amounts owed as well as their addresses and dates the accts were opened.

You are correct that a packet arrives from the trustee after you have filed. That packet has what info the trustee wishes you to provide him before the 341 and how many days you have to get it all together and to his doorstep. The next time you see the trustee will be at the 341.Ch 7 filed: 3/30

Thanks!
So what does the atty need all of this info for? I'm hoping to help me put magic numbers to all of our stuff because I have NO idea how to value it. It's going to take hours to ebay and craiglist up garage sale type values. I guess I better get a jump on the trustee and start now so I can take my time when the trustees package arrives.filed chapter 7 BK 4/27/09

What I should have done when I was filling out my packet for the atty was make double copies of everything because the trustee also wanted a copy of our paystubs, taxes, w-2, property tax statement, titles to cars, Kelly blue book value, bank statements, ect.... When out making copies for atty just make two and stash them away it is much easier than running out to copy things again.

downsized your atty needed it to assess your qualifying for the means test, filling in the SOFA etc. BTW it actually took me two full days of surfing the net to find all the household items.
The trustee really didn't ask for much- basically the same info you provided your atty. So it shouldn't take more than an hour to put it all together if you kept a copy of those records.Ch 7 filed: 3/30
