i will file for bk7 this week, but my mom is on my 2 mortgages. The attorney said they will come after her for the deficiency after foreclosure. There (dad and mom) assets are house, car, bank accounts and she gets social security every month. The ss goes into a joint account with her name first and dads second. The other accounts have my dads name first and mom second, same thing with house and car. House and car are paid off. The attorney said she could try to file for bk7 if/when they come after her when my house forecloses. I was considering ch13 but my monthly expenses are -500. Is the period to check the accounts 1 year? Because we are thinking about taking my mom off my dads checking and savings account.

I can't answer your question completely but I will tell you what happened to me.
I had a couple of credit cards with an old boyfriend. He filed bankruptcy. I did not realize I was actually on one of the cards. I just thought I was an authorized user. They came after me and I ended up having to pay the bill. One of the other cards did not because I was only an authorized user.
As far as bank accounts it doesn't matter whose name appears first on the account, they are both on the account, period. If you let the house go they will go after your mother. Unless she files bankruptcy they will try to take anything and everything she has.
The only advice I can tell you is that your mother and father may need to meet with your attorney too and find out what their options are.
