One question though: I intended to surrender a motorcycle back to a creditor but they never contacted me. I even sent them a letter to make sure they knew I intended to surrender it but I still never heard from them. So I guess it's mine.

But...

Can I get a title for it? I want to sell it and pay back money I owe to my mother.

Can I sell it without a title?

I think I'll go to the CA DMV tomorrow and see what they say.

Can't sell with no title to transfer. I'd think if you alert the lender that you're selling and they realize it's been IIB, they'll insist they are the rightful owner and refuse a title transfer.

Now on the selling of the motorcycle. Why do you think that its yours to sell?
Did you pay it off? Believe me they will come for it....You are not going to be able to without a title anyways.

You may not have heard from the lender about the motorcycle because they were not going to do anything that would violate the automatic stay. Now that you have a discharge they will probably try to take possession of it once they receive the notice of discharge from the court.

Ummm wait! dont sell it!! it took Ford almost 6 months to actually come pick up my car after my discharge. (my apartment manager was going to start charging them daily storage fees!!)
