    PACER statement problems

I just got a $147 bill from PACER and there are charges on there for pages I did not access. For instance the court of Alabama, Florida and Northern California. There were two days that I looked at other cases in my district that were filed around the same time as mine but not in other districts. I've also got charges for 140+ pages in a single session which I know I haven't done. I always check to see the number of pages on a document before I accept the charge.

Can you dispute PACER fees? If not... can they go into the bk?
    12/05/08 - filed pro se
01/27/09 - case dismissed and closed - 02/24/09 - case reopened and dismissal vacated
    04/01/09 - new 341 scheduled
    6/02/09 - DISCHARGED!!!

Holy crap! do they warn you before they take the money out of your account?

I have been on pacer and would die if I got a bill that high.

No idea if you can contest it or not

blankslate, you could have received high charges just by a query. The prior version of CM/ECF (PACER) would charge the $0.08 per page on queries with NO Limit. As you know, viewing documents has the 30 page maximum charge. However, the queries did not have that limit.

Also, make sure your password is not simple like "password" or "god" or...

You may be able to send an email to the service center and ask about disputing it. However, if your password isn't good, they may not approve a credit.
