Quick Ques About Income

A few weeks ago I filed for BK 7, no court date yet.

I met the means income for NY state.

However, it is very likely that in the process I may get a job that is a lot higher in salary and surpasses the means income for 1 person.

Does this matter? Will I not qualify anymore or do they go on the income I had when I first open my file or latest tax returns (which meet means income)?

Hopefully your 341 Meeting occurs before you start at the new job. Remember, you don't have that job, until you are actually there working on the payroll. Other than that, it's just an offer, so your status has not changed.

At your 341 meeting, the Trustee will ask you various questions, of which one may be have you changed jobs. If you only have an offer or a future start date, then you haven't changed jobs (period).

That's all I can tell you about that. Besides, a Bankruptcy is based on your financial picture at the time of filing (on that date and for debts owed prior to that date).
