I found out when I called my attorney that my case had been discharged, got the letter the next day. However, when I called I had to talk to the attorney's secretary (hereinafter known as "the *itch"), who promptly went on another tirade because I had the nerve to call & ask a question. She is the meanest, rudest person I have ever dealt with in my life & I do not want to deal with her ever again. So to keep me from having to call with another "stupid question", can anyone answer this? I was told by the Trustee during my 341 meeting not to cash my tax return so I called my attorney when I received the check & the *itch said "just hold it because the trustee may not ask for it". Now that my case is discharged but not yet closed do I still continue to hold on to it or can I put it in my bank?

Until the case is closed I would hold onto the refund monies. Stick it in a nice interest bearing savings account and make some money from it till he asks for it.
Especially if the trustee told you to hold onto it. Sounds like he looking to see how big it will be and take it if it's more then a few hundred dollars. Once the case is CLOSED then you should be free and clear to go about relearning how to live your financial life3/2/09- Filed: chapter 7 / No asset
