Listing household items

Alright so I'm making a spreadsheet of everything I own. Now, I'm wondering how in detail I need to be- do they need to know I have 8 towels, 16 washcloths and 3 beach towels? Or is that overdoing it?

Aside from our exemptions like motor vehicle and our "personal" amount (which is 1K per person in my state), is there another exemption that includes the basic stuff? For example, in my $1000 I get for "personal" exemption, do I have to claim my bed, shampoo, nail clippers and microwave in that personal exemption or does that qualify under some other area like "needed items to live"?

What about my kids items- is that claimed under my personal allowance? Their toys, cribs and carseats can certainly take a big chunk of that amount. Where does that stuff go?

Oh my, you are looking into to this way tooo much. You do not need to get that detailed. Just put a value (garage sales) on your items of what they would sell in a garage sale today. No need to list nail clipper, shampoo, etc......

Also, not sure if that state you live in has a wild card exemption.

Does anyone know how the wildcard exemption works? I looked into my state and it said something about if you are giving your house back and still living in it, then you don't qualify (this is my case- I can't afford to move). I'm in FL.

I did not get very detailed. Here is what I put:

#4 (Household) - Furniture, computer and laptop $410
#5 (Books, etc.) - DVD collection (appx. 50 titles @ $2/each); Books (appx. 100 titles @ $.50/each) $150
#6 (Wearing Apparel) - Clothing and shoes $600
#7 (Furs & Jewelry) - Jewelry $400

I did make a list for my own use of every item I had and gave it an approximate garage sale value and that is how I came up with the totals. I did include my stuff and my kids stuff.

I put jewelry costume 50.00, clothes 200, that's all I put, I did not break down anything else, kitchen etc, I left off. Just generalize your items your attorney clerk will fix it for you. No need that much detail.
