Just so you understand the nature of this forum. When you ask a question you are in fact soliciting advice. It is thus impossible to "offer unsolicited" advice.

It also appears based on most answers to your question my "irrelevant" advice is your best option.

    Thanks!
Well, I did. Every one of 'em. Mostly I remember the last one. The wild finish. A guy standing on a station platform in the rain with a comical look in his face because his insides have been kicked out. -Rick

We were told at our 341 to send the entire refund and we were going to with no issue. It's a small price to pay to get this mess over with. We filed our taxes and waited and no refund was coming so I called the IRS to ask about it. The trustee filed with the IRS to send the refund directly to the trustee instead of sending it to us.

I understand the nature of the forum - it's like most forums on pretty much any subject...but just because I understand it doesn't mean I am obligated to silently accept it as is.

I think most people want succinct answers to the questions they ask, regardless of the fact that they are more likely to get irrelevant advice, speculation, or a lecture.

Actually, it is probably in your best interest to "silently accept" advice you deem irrelevant. Then you don't risk being labeled as someone with a bad additude....or worse.

          Succinct enough for you?

The trustee wants your tax refund immediately upon your receipt of it. There is not a grace period. You are required to send it upon receipt.

I know your suggestion about being a precedent setter was in jest, but given that Zenilia in reply 7 asked a related question about having already spent their refund just prior to the 341 meeting, there surely is a precedent somewhere. Also, there must be situations where there is a grace period because EricaCallaha in reply 2 stated that at their 341 meeting they were given a date by which to send the money...in other words, it wasn't demanded immediately.

So you've learned it's handled differently district by district. Ask your attorney.

Why would you solicit that information from me when you can clearly just look at the indicator under my name on each post? I'm a B/F Contributor if you aren't seeing the information.

Actually this is a very good statement and advice all in one.

The one thing that I have learned is that if the trustee is happy then everyone is happy. If you withhold or delay anything that the trustee is asking for then you risk being on the losing end of the bankruptcy spectrum. If the trustee gets what they want and has your undivided attention and cooperation then your case should have little to no hiccups.

Good luck no matter what you choose to do.

Please don't accept advice here as true unless you check it out on your own.
We are all just "contributors". The titles under the names are just based on number of postings. No one is an expert here, we are just offering our experience in the BK situation.

It is scary when someone here thinks a "guru" or "moderator" is an expert, lol.

Although you will, after reading awhile, come to trust some of the posters here because you can tell that they are thorough in their research. Some that come to mind that give pretty sound advice are HHM, Just Broke, and even Ohio Filer!!! LOL Of course, there are many others, but do be careful.
