I started the bankruptcy filing process. One of the creditors I have is Verizon Wireless, at the time of filing, the debt was at $200.00, and I listed the approximate amount at $200. What happens when they charge me for breaking the contract as well? Will Verizon be knocked off altogether or will I still have money to pay after the bankruptcy?

You listed what you owe now. That is a best guess and when you are discharged, all will be discharged. I have bills discharged I never listed as I intended to pay them. They were tied to another entity so they went.
Try Boost, pay as you go. This is what we do. No big bills and when the credit is up, you go off. Simple and cheap. 'HubIf I knew it all, would I be here?? Hang in there = Retained attorney 8-06, Filed 12-28-07, Discharge 8-13-08, Finally CLOSED 11-3-09, 3-31-10 AP Dismissed, Informed by incompetent lawyer of CLOSED status, October 14, 2010.

I have verizon too. You have to be careful with them. The way the work is when you file they move your account to the BK dept (naturally). Then they change your account # from xxxxxxxx-1 to xxxxxxxx-2. If you want to cancel your service you must do it within 60 days of filing, before the discharge. If you do not cancel the service then once you are discharged you 'continue' on your contract with the new account number and your account is moved out of the BK dept. If you wait until after the discharge to cancel, they will charge you the cancelation fee. BTW, they do not send you any information regarding this. They 'assume' you want the contract to continue unless you specifically cancel, in writing. Verizon was very clear with me when I called them to discuss my alternatives.Filed CH 7 9/30/2008
