Where do you get credit scores, how much does it cost?

I got my free annual credit reports from the big three agencies back in June 2008, but I didn't want to pay them the extra money to get my credit score. I keep seeing lots of posts where people are quoting their credit scores. Where do you get your three credit scores from & how much does it cost you?

Try myFico.com for your true credit scores, but recently Experian decided not to make them available from this site. MyFico was offering 30% off last week and might still have that discount available. I got the discount by purchasing FICO standard (basic one-time scores) and the discount ad appeared on the screen, however if the discount isn't available on their site, there are discount codes available on this Forum just do a search. Good luck.

Sorry, I forgot to post: myFico.com charges $15.95 for each report before discounts.

Wasn't it like $6 at annual credit report.com? I remember it said you could get it for a few bucks when getting your free credit report.

The only way to get your real credit scores is to pay myFico.com for the scores. The cheaper deals from other companies are *not* your true credit scores - they give you "best guesses" according to their internal calculations.

The only exception is Experian which just recently started calculating their own scores and selling them like myFico. However, that's just one of the three scores you need to know.
