I'm confused

My case was discharged/closed at the end of 2008, I recieved my tax refund today in the mail. It is only $400 dollars, but I thought that the bk court was getting it? I don't know what I can or can not do after this chapter 7? Can I put money in savings account? Am I allowed to? I am just confused. It's been almost 6 months since I filed (9/30/08 filed no asset chapter 7) Was discharged in late december and case was closed before this new year. Am I allowed to cash this check? I don't want to get in trouble.

If it was declared no-asset, then they weren't interested in your refund. I wouldn't worry about it. Also, if this is your only potential asset, $400 is worthless to a trustee.

It would probably be too much effort to go after it for $400 so I wouldn't worry about it
