Question re: account numbers

Hi everyone,

I have a question and was wondering if anyone could shed light on it until I can ask my attorney.

I am ready to file my Chapter 7 papers, however, I am missing my account number with GE Money Bank. I moved in Feb. and my mail wasn't initially getting forwarded and also, I carelessly threw away the old statements I did have. So the only thing holding up my filing is the lack of account number.

I have called them numerous times and am always told that I cannot have my account number over the phone (but they will change my address over the phone????? Go figure). I have asked three times for a current statement to be sent to me, but 2 weeks later, nothing.

I did manage to obtain the last 4 of the account number from Bank of America (I used to pay my GE bill with online bill pay).

Can I file with only the last four of the account number? Any comments are appreciated.

Pull a credit report, I think you can get the number from there.

The number is on your credit report. My atty actually pulled mine while in his office (with permission) to make sure we didn't miss anyone.

I actually did pull my 3 bureau credit report, but the account numbers for all of my creditors are only partial numbers (I'm guessing for security). But, I called my lawyer today, will go in on Tues., they said that the last four of an account number is OK.

Hopefully I am getting closer to filing, after four months of waiting.
