I would like to file my bankruptcy online. I have found a couple of sites but not sure if the companies are reputable and won't take me for more money then necessary. Has anyone tried one before and how were you results? Thanks

If you can afford one, an attorney is the way to go - if not, you can file yourself, after all, they only fill in the blanks with info YOU supply them so you can put it in the blanks yourself.
Filing yourself would only be suggested IF your BK was simple, otherwise an attorney is the only way to go.
Also, there may be help available from the court as well. - jbjb - A little knowledge is a wonderful thing - sometimes.

The most valuable part of going to an attorney for our BK is the many (I mean alot) legal questions & concerns that we have had through this process. That alone was worth the attorney.Filed C7: 12/16/08; 341 Meeting: 1/22/09
Last Day for Objections: 3/23/09 (No Objections)
Discharged: 4/3/09
Closed: 3/23/10

A lawyer is your gold standard. However, you can purchase good books from Nolo.com on C7 and C13. The books are cheap in download (about 17 bucks) and have all the forms and explanations you need. The actual filing for a 7 is about $245 with expenses of about $36. That you can get waved at the Courthouse if you can fill out an indigent request. I will have to be approved. Good fortune to you if you go it alone. ‘HubIf I knew it all, would I be here?? Hang in there = Retained attorney 8-06, Filed 12-28-07, Discharge 8-13-08, Finally CLOSED 11-3-09, 3-31-10 AP Dismissed, Informed by incompetent lawyer of CLOSED status, October 14, 2010.

Having an attorney is a great way to file for Chapter 7, but the costs of an attorney are tough to cover in most BK situations.
They have partnered with Nolo (who is in the process of reviewing the upcoming press release) and includes the online version of their Chapter 7 book. Springboard (one of the largest consumer credit counseling agencies) also provides the online credit counseling. The online application includes tips, sample forms, FAQ's and links from each question on the forms to tips in the Nolo book. You fill out the forms yourself and there are a lot of resources to help you along. Also, after paying the $199 fee for the service, if at any time you decide that you want to use an attorney then your $199 will be credited to the local Legal Helpers Attorney in your community. The paperwork can be filled out online but still needs to be brought in person to the courthouse. The $199 does not include the counseling or filing fees.
I work for the web development company that created this application alongside the law firm that created We The People for BK ParaDox and have been in contact with members of Legal Helpers, Springboard, and Nolo who have also tested this and have given the go ahead.
