Suggested I continue paying house payments IF I intended to keep the house.
When you fill out all the paperwork for BK, one of these will be your income and one your expenses - in detail. The forms are pretty straight forward and cover EVERYTHING.
Ideally, your expenses and income should be close to the same for a chp 7. - jbjb - A little knowledge is a wonderful thing - sometimes.

If you want to keep a secured asset after filing Ch 7, you have to be up to date on the payments when you file.
Whether you can continue to claim the payment for an asset you intend to surrender when you file depends on your bk district's position on the issue. Some allow it, some don't.I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.
