if the UST is going to show up, does that happen at the 341 or can they get involved later? If they show up, does that automatically result in an extension of your 341/60/discharge timeframe?

UST-when do they show up?

The UST can get involved at any time and can cause delays. Unless you have something that seems worth investigating, I doubt you'll every hear from the UST. Some posters have reported that the UST was at the 341 and asked questions but that is rare. I filed a business Ch. 7 received a discharge and still don't know who the UST was (it was never updated on PACER) and they never got involved. It was the local Trustee that was the one to look out for. She was so thorough that the UST didn't need to get involved.
If the UST does show up, it doesn't automatically mean an extension, it just means they need clarification on some issues with your case. Just take any relevant paperwork and/or receipts to your 341 as backup and you'll be fine (that's what I did). Good luck.Filed Chapter 7 (Primarily Business Expenses) 04/10/2008 FICO 468
