      Yes, but only if the asset sale is within the six month look-back period before filing.

      Sounds like the OP may be able to sell the car then wait the six full calendar months out to file so the $35K doesn't add into their income. Also their financial situation may be that $35K added to their current income will still allow them to file Ch 7.
