Authorized user on MIL's corp. AMEX...will she find out?

I am an authorized user on my MIL's corporate AMEX account (I have a card with my name on it but never see a bill and have only used it once in two years). If I file for chapter 7 is there any way she can find out? I have an AMEX Blue card, which will be included in the BK, so they'll know that I filed, but since I'm not the cardholder/bill payer for the corporate card will they still notify her that I filed or would they just revoke the card and not tell her why?

Your SS# was needed for you to become an authorized user on that card. Two things can happen here - since the card is in her name it might not be affected or AMEX could eliminate you from that account as an authorized user not affecting your MIL's credit or card status. I would think that since your MIL is in control of the account and had to give permission to AMEX to put you on as an authorized user that the account may not be affected at all and nothing occur. Time will tell as nothing is guaranteed as to credit cards and filing BK.

On a related note... My husband has a corporate Amex at work. The bills are sent to him, but the company pays them. Will this be affected by our bk? It won't be included since it's not technically our card.

Hi, I know for a fact that the card WILL survive the BK. My hubby has one and has had no problems at all using it. We have our own personal AM Ex. that we bankrupct on and the corporate AMex was fine. Naturally, the corporate was not included in the BK, cause his company pays the bills eventhough, we get a bill in the mail. No worries there.

So I guess my next question is, do I have to tell my MIL that I am filing or will it be seamless if they remove me as an authorized user. To be honest I never use the card, so I really don't care.

Another thing...I checked my credit report and the card is not listed at all. Does that mean anything?
