    receipts to save

    Hi Everyone,

Can anyone give me any guidance on receipts I should be saving right now? Not sure when I'm gong to file (some time within the next 6 months), but have read a lot about people having to provide the trustee with receipts.

I always save all of my business receipts, but, unless I am thinking of returning something or it's under warranty, don't usually save receipts for personal spending.

Can anyone who has been asked by the trustee to come up with receipts, give me some idea of what receipts the want to see?

    Thanks!

My advice if you're filing above median is to save EVERY receipt (even fuel and ATM receipts). If you have the misfortune of having the UST involved in your case, those receipts could be the difference between being discharged or having your case dismissed/converted.

Help is right - Save gas reciepts, grocery receipts, keep all utilities bills, all credit card bills, aut repairs. Just keep everything in a shoe box. This way if the UST gets involved you can produce all those reciepts without going hunting for them all.
