We are getting ready to file a ch 7. I have a Sam's club membership through my uncle's business. I am freaking out about him being notified that we are filing, do you think this will happen since the membership and credit acct are not really linked. Has anyone faced this issue?

Are you just an authorized user on his account? If the account is not in your name he should not be notified. If you want to be sure of this ask him to remove you as an authorized user and there would no longer be a link.Comment

Yes I do owe Sams Club money, but no our credit accounts (mine and my uncles) shouldn't be linked in any way. I just got the membership through his business. The more I am thinking about it, I don't see how he would ever find out. It just makes me nervous.Comment

I just renewed my sam's club membership no problem.
For OP if the Credit card is not in your name your uncle should not be notified.Chapter 7 07/30/2008
