Money in account before bankrupcy HELP

I have about 2000 in my checking account and am filing next week for chapter 7 in Kansas. My question is, I have rent coming up. Can I pay advanced rent. This is the last of my money. I dont want to turn it over. Any thoughts on what I could spend it on. Also, I have 200 on a credit card from a few weeks ago. Will the trustee come after me for this. MY car broke down and I had no cash.

Hi,

I'll pass along to you the same advice that was given to me: get a money order or cashier's check for your rent, and then take take the remainder out in cash. I was advised (on this forum) to leave less than $100 in the account on the day of filing.

Don't know about your last charge . . .
