Do college tuition grants count as income?

I am calculating our income to plan out my filing date, and want to make sure we'll be below the median. I am a full-time college student, and I receive a grant from my college to help pay for tuition.

Does this money (paid by the college to the college) count as income? It will make the difference on when I can file.
