paying rent and security??

Since we are letting our home go in the chapter 7 we plan on filing. we have to find a new place. I am lucky that my father rents a house to my sister and she is now moving out so I can rent the house . Now even though he is my father I still need to give him security and rent because he needs to pay the bills too. My dad prefers we give him cash and I need to pay him this week. Is it going to look bad that I am withdrawing $2600. I will make sure to get a receipt from him.

No, it will not look bad, as you can show that you used the money to pay for housing. You absolutely, however, need a receipt for your Dad indicating what that money was for. If part is deposit and part is first month's rent, then make him issue two different receipts (one for deposit, one for rent).

If he won't give you a receipt... sorry... don't rent from him.

No, he has no problem giving me a receipt. He feels bad for having to charge me security but I told him if I rented from anyone else I would have to pay anyways. He hates checks and hates going to the bank, lol. I am very lucky because it would be impossible to find a 3 bedroom house in my area that only costs 1300.00, with a yard and I get to keep my dogs.

what is the rush to get out of your home? let the lender go thorugh the foreclosure process and live rent free for as long as you can

Unfortunately, it just happens to be my fathers renter is out this month and he needs to rent the place to cover his mortgage. I was hoping to live rent free but this is great opportunity to live in a house that I can afford, where my kids have a yard, I can keep my dogs, I can pretty much do anything to it as if it were my own and it is much bigger than my house now. At least I can take my time to move in because with a 9,6 and 5 month old time is not on my side...lol.

i understand, I have 2 kids too. 18 months and 4 months. Moving is going to be tough.

Please do not take this the wrong way, but I would not let my fathers problems finding a renter effect me. Us, including myslef, BK filiers have enough issues of our own. By your posts you have not filed yet You should be able to live rent free for atleast 1 yr. That is $15,600 towards your new start. I understand it is family but that is alot of money after a BK.
