What got you here?
WHen did you stop paying?
When did you seek attorney?
Why?
etc.

I've been thinkig about you and wondering how your depo turned out. You did it! The worst is behind you now. I'm so happy for you. Wow an 1 1/2 hours, any breaks or just constant grueling? I would have been spent. Good job Jessegirl. Good luck.
As you know our hearing has been postponed by the UST and it turns out it is just a hearing to say we are going to change our numbers and then we present them at the next hearing. Cripes this is going to go on until the summer I fear. We filed in October.
Again, congrats the worst is over. I'll raise a beer for you tonight (a day late and dollar short, I guess).

Jessegirl: Looks like I'm up next.
UST has asked for 3 years of credit card statements, three years of bank statements, three years of car leases, car sales and car purchases, house sales, investment accounts, 401k statements.
They also have requested an inventory of what my ex got in the divorce settlement.
They want to know details about every transaction over $500 over the past 3 years. Heck I have no clue on probably 50% of them. I would say closer to 95% if not for copies I am able to see.
How about forcing me to stop contributing to my 401k immediately. I hate that I have to go through BK but not being able to save for the future seems even worse.
My attorney is surprised the extent they are going to. He says he has never had them request more than two years of data and those were in more marginal cases than mine.
A lot of CC debt. No assets. lots of stress!!

So sorry about all of this stress. Do you know why this is happening? I'm trying to understand why some people come under such intense scrutiny and others just fly through the whole process. Did your attorney warn you that this might happen?

Has this been the norm for all, to save three years worth of CC statements? I don't think I have 3 years worth..
I will be filing at some point. I am judgement proof for now.. I am giving up my upside down condo, so there will be no assets except furniture and computer gear.

The attorney suggested to get a year's worth when we first consulted. I have a big income, but big expenses so I pass the means test. Likewise, I have huge credit card debt and no assets or secured debts. So the question came from the UST "where is all the money; what did you buy".
They asked for all that data. The fact is even I do not know how it happened. In my research through files, I found HUNDREDS of those checks for cash advance or balance trasfers. I found dozens of pre-approvals. I found that the banks made it all seem so simple to use their cards for everything from insurance to utilities to gasoline to McDonalds. When it runs up, transfer to another offer. Then the bottom drops out and credit lines are cut and nobody will transfer anything. Travel here, travel there. Buy buy buy. In the end I get nothing but bills. Honestly no real purchases of anything much.
I have a complete inventory of my household items. I would sell the whole lot of it for a little money and be glad for it. I want to start over fresh. I made mistakes and I have nothing to show for it. Honestly I cannot pay anything. I barely make it check to check.
Remember the saying "you can't get blood from a rock" that's me. I just can't make it. I thought BK would help but the stress has been so brutal and I am not even up to my 341 yet. I have spent at least 100 hours in searching boxes of my receipts and statements. I have also spent $120 in copying just the 2152 pages of credit card and bank statements for them. Nice huh?
