    Joint or Community?

    In listing debts in schedule F if the debt is in my name would i just list it as mine even though i live in a community property state? What about Joint if something is in both me and my wife's name? It's not really clear wether to list it as community or joint.......

    10/03/2005 Filed chapter 7 bankruptcy with the western district in washington state!
    10/10/2005 Received notification in the mail that my 341 is scheduled for 11/09/2005 with instructions to bring SS Card and ID
    11/09/2005 Successful 341! Trustee proclaims NO ASSET DISTRIBUTION!!! OH YEAH!

    From what I gather, most things should be listed as community? Can anybody confirm this for me?

      Do you live in a community property state?
      I don't, but we still listed many things under community and it was fine.
      Certain things, like a joint bank account, we listed as joint.

          Pretty much if you live in a community property state and the debt was incurred while you are married, it is a community debt.
