Okay, it's been a few weeks now since the stay was lifted allowing the bank to repo my car (which I fully intended to surrender), and my lawyer has let them know they can contact me at any time to arrange repo...I've not heard a peep from them, and with each passing day I'm beginning to wonder if I ever will.
In any case, the car is technically their property at this point which means I can't insure it, but if I drive it and get pulled over for a tail light being out or something like that, I'd get a whopping ticket and possibly the car would be impounded. The safest and most obvious solution is not to drive the car, but it's so handy and I'm not yet in a position to get a different car. Has anyone else been in this position? Can a bank not repo a car (and leave it in limbo) indefinitely??
