I have retained a lawyer for my BK. The lawyer will not file the paperwork until he is paid in full, which will be next month. The lawyer told me to refer creditors to his office. The creditors have told me that unless I have a 'case number' then it does not matter, they will place a lien on my house. (The ones that threatened this are credit card companies)
Reading through these posts, if it is an unsecured debt--they can not place a lien against the property, right?
A friend needed a co-signer for her vehicle. The original loan through Key Bank had me listed as co-signer. When that loan was sold to BOA, they had me listed as one of the owners. I am on her loan paperwork and the registration. She makes the payments on the truck. Do I have to reaffirm her vehicle? I got the paperwork from the atty. for me to look over and he has it checked that the vehicle would be surrendered.
