    Question about interviewing attorneys

This may be a dumb question because I asked it in a different thread on another topic and nobody responded. If I call around for free consultations to interview lawyers, do they report it that you contacted them for advice? We are pretty sure we want to file bankruptcy but we want to plan it. I read in a couple of places that the trustee asks you when you contacted a lawyer to find out if you knew you where filing. Does it mean that when you just called for info or actually retained one? Is there someplace where lawyers report it. I used a fake name for one I called because I am scared of this.

They might report you to the "Fake Name Using" police but otherwise no.

Who do you think they can report you to anyway?
Well, I did. Every one of 'em. Mostly I remember the last one. The wild finish. A guy standing on a station platform in the rain with a comical look in his face because his insides have been kicked out. -Rick

No, they don't report. It's not a dumb question (per se), but in all seriousness, you are being overly paranoid.
