    Filing today...

I first met with my BK attorney back in July and had been in a 6-month holding pattern to file. Then, something else came up, so I ended up having to wait almost 8 months from when I first met with him. Even though the process really started back in July (when the creditors stopped being paid), the official journey begins today. I went in this morning, signed all the documents and everything will be filed with the court by the end of the business day today.

My emotions are pretty much all over the place, as I kind of expected. Part of me is relieved, that I got through the waiting period without being sued/getting a wage garnishment and before the median income went down again. The other part is still ashamed, embarrassed, humiliated and just exhausted I guess. I know that there is a lot to get through between now and discharge but I feel a little bit closer to the end.

Thanks for reading... I just needed to vent.

    Sounds like you're rather normal.
Well, I did. Every one of 'em. Mostly I remember the last one. The wild finish. A guy standing on a station platform in the rain with a comical look in his face because his insides have been kicked out. -Rick

Been there...done that, but I must say don't be ashamed, embarassed or humiliated. You are doing what is best for you and that is what you have to focus on. We are all in the same boat, just use the opportunity to no longer support the CC companies and such and pay yourself instead.

Thanks for the support, everyone. I actually have a date for my 341 already, which is April 7. I just want to put all of this behind me and start over.

We are waiting to file next week. Ours to is going on longer then planned.
I'm not sure what will be worse the days from when you stop making payments. Or the day you file until your 341 meeting. Then of course the 60 days after the 341.
I think i will be relieved but stressed and worried what happens once we file and its in the hands of the trustee.

If you're honest in your filing you have nothing to worry about. Nothing.
