    Once Filed then what?

I'm just curious what happens once your file? We are in the process of spending our tax return and bank account so we can file. We are pre paying all of our utilities and rent by a month so for nearly 2 months we wont have any bills at all. Do we need to continue spending all of our money once we file or can we finally start saving?

I am not a pro at this but we filed jan 23rd. 341 meeting on feb 24th. currently awaiting discharge. hopefully with no problems. we are not saving anything at all right now. still trying to get caught up on other things. maybe someone else can jump in here and talk about saving after filing. i don't plan on saving until after discharge. i am not giving these peeps anything to take from me. don't know if they can but i am not taking a chance on it.

We are saving but NOT in a bank account. We deposit what we need to pay bills then save the cash. I don't trust anyone at this point.

I think were going to do the same thing when we file, Just keep in there what we need and just save the cash. Will the trustee say anything about that once we've filed? We have cut back on a lot of things this past year and im just not sure how i would even spend it all especially if i prepaid my rent and utilities by a month.

Remember a couple of things -

1- you are going to supply copies of your bank accounts for 6 months back.
2- you will fill out schedules of your MONTHLY expenses and one for MONTHLY bills
3- you will file statements of how much money you have on the day of filing - bank accounts, savings accounts, cash - ANY money, anywhere.

If all these things don't add up to show you have more expenses than bills and make sense, you could be denied.

we did not have any "extra" money when we filed so i was not worried about the amount of money we had on hand. now that we have filed we are playing catch up on things like clothing and some expenses so there really is still nothing left to save at the moment. but in the future we will save i am not sure it will be in a bank or if we will be saving cash for awhile.

Were right with ya... we were just told to spend the extra money before we start the paper work. Our attorney said spend at least half of our tax money we just got back and then get back with him. He said we may have to spend more. He wants to let us have as much as we can left for after we are done filing bankrupsy for live off of.
