Don't be mad at the judge - he is doing you a huge favor. Just because you don't reaffirm don't think for a second that the finance co. won't take your mo. payments. Newsflash - they will! Granted, it won't be reported on your credit reports but who cares. You can still keep your car provided you make the mo. payments. And best of all, if something happens where you couldn't make payments, you can give the car up with no penalties....not owe a damn thing. Now why would you be mad at a judge for doing this favor to you? I wouldn't be mad.

The more and more I go over this scenio in my mind I'm cool with whatever outcome happens. You guys are all great and are awesome when we want to vent. I was thinking, if something happens mechanically with the MB, I could just give it back. That's incredible. German cars are no picnic when it comes to repairs.
I found another place that finances after BK: www.replacevehicle.com
If I have to start over, I will without regret!Chapter 7 filed 10/21/2008

you are stressing way toooo much. just make the monthly payments and you will be fine. i bought my car a yr ahead of bk. didn't reaffirm. no issues. i relish in the fact that if i ever need to give it up - i can, no repercussions.Filed Chapter 7 Pro-Se May 29, 2008

My MB payment is only $330/mo with a 4.9% interest rate. I will gladly hand it over if they want it that bad. I was looking a a 2007 Nissan Versa with 30k miles for under $12k. Just discharge ME before I go postal on somebody.
$12k is expensive for a Versa. You can find nice cars for about $8k. You just have to hit AutoTrader.com and go to the options below and set the range to $8,000 and mileage below like 45k or 60k miles. I found a beautiful Jaguar that was garage kept for $7,000 and a nice 2002 BMW 5 series for $8000. These would be much nicer cars to own than a Versa.
I remember reading an article on MSN.com about cars. The girl who wrote the article said you'd be better off buying a 5-year old BMW instead of a brand new Honda. She said the BMW's are made very well and built to last. She also said that in 5 years the BMW would lose a lot less negative equity than you would with a brand new Honda since the 5-year old BMW has taken the brunt of the depreciation already.
2007 Nissan Versa 23k miles $9988
2008 Nissan 19,040 miles Versa $11988 (same price of the one you're looking at, 1 year newer with less miles!)
Shop around. There's ALWAYS better deals than what you found. I would get a slightly older car for much less money. If you're going to spend $12k on a car, I would try to pick out something much nicer than a Versa. A Versa isn't a bad car at all... I would just let somebody else take the brunt of the depreciation a little more, that's all.
