    Two Questions..ID and Filing Q's

We are suppose to be filing today. I provided my attorney with everything she needed and she said they would be filing last this afternoon. If I look on Pacer tomorrow, should it be on there? Is there a way I can check to make sure it was filed without calling them?

Second question, I know I need to show an ID at my 341 meeting. Do they look at the address on the id because it still has my old address on it? Do you think I should update the address before hand to match my paperwork? I've just been lazy and not headed to the license office yet.

For pacer, I would wait a couple of days. You can always sign up and run a query for your case to see if it's in there, but I wouldn't worry until a couple of days have passed. I filed on 2/3 and it was put into pacer on 2/5.

I don't know about the ID - I could probably use an answer also since I don't have the correct address on my license.

Yes, you can check the status of your case via PACER. Keep in mind that every time you click a link to read a document, it costs 8 cents per page. That doesn't sound like alot, but it adds up very quickly. The documents are in PDF format and you can download them to your hardrive for future reference. Make sure you give them a name that is understandable to you.

On the ID, you will need two: a photo ID which is typically your driver's license and your Social Security card. The trustee is more concerned that your NAME as given on your two IDs matches the name that is on your paperwork. A lady ahead of us had her 341 continued because she had divorced, changed her name, but did not correct her ID.

'Hub's and my DL give our postal box as our address. The trustee never mentioned a word about that, though in glancing through our paperwork he asked: "and you live at XXX XXXXXXXX XXXXX?"

If for some reason you don't have your SS card, start working now on replacing it. Although some posters have been able to use their W-2 forms in lieu of the SS card. It depends on your district and trustee.

        Good luck~

Yeah - I showed up at my 341 meeting this morning without my SS card - I couldn't find it, and my lawyer had not explained to me that the hearing would be postponed if I didn't have something - anything - with my SS number on it. The trustee did allow me to run to the SS office a couple of blocks away and get a verification statement. I was in such a rush I didn't even look at it...we waited until the end of the hour and got squeezed in again...I handed over the paper...trustee looks at it...it doesn't have the SS number on it....just the official stamp of the office and verification that I applied for a new card. Sooo....I run back to the office and ask for something with my number on it and some official verification thereof, and they say that it will cost me $46 and they only accept checks or money orders. Why an actual card is free but a simple verification of the number costs $46 is beyond me. Long story short - bring verification of your SS number!

That said, I really don't understand this particular bit of bureaucracy. I mean, who would pretend to be in bankruptcy when they're not? And what lawyer would collude with such a person to do so?
