Anything is better than being up north. All of those negatives... Salt to destroy the cars, expensive homes, long commutes when it snows, heavy taxes.

I have taken to standing on the street corner in a clown's costume with a sign reading, "The End is Near! Convert to Amsoil Today!" Honestly, I don't know what more I can do to get more people on the Amsoil bandwagon.

Maybe we could start a business making those sign spinners promoting Amsoil. Then we could work from home making a lot of money and just pay people to SPIN.

Both of those states are insane. You have to be a masochist to live in either one to enjoy the suffering of cold weather that is painful and watching your cars get destroyed right before your very own eyes, year after year, as the salt eats away the undercarriage.

Do you have a fetish of getting lower gas mileage or spending more money on frequent oil changes? I don't get it. What makes people want to waste money foolishly on unncessary oil changes? Why would you rather use an oil that gets you less MPG as opposed to one that gives you a little more?

I don't understand why people love to be masochists and inflict pain on themselves all the time.

DM, please take this in the spirit I'm offering it as one forum member to another.

Although it's very hard to see this behavior in yourself, you are basically telling several other members in this thread and other threads that you know how to make their decisions better than they do, and why weren't they smart enough in the first place to make the right (i.e. your) decision?

This kind of well-meaning but unsolicited "advice" does not win friends in the long run, particularly in a virtual forum like this one where we see only your words - we can't hear your tone of voice and we can't see your facial expressions. It's your know-it-all attitude and inability to stop trying to make your point repeatedly after several members have clearly indicated they aren't interested or don't agree that is 'poking the bear'. That's where the anger you are now seeing in the later posts is coming from.

I encourage you to take this as a hopefully constructive suggestion to help make your forum time more pleasurable for you. Whether you decide to change your approaches offering your often-very-good advice to our other members in a way that easier for them to hear and act on is up to you.
