Macy's CC reporting balance after discharge ???

Hi-has anyone had trouble with Macy's department store credit cards? I just checked my credit report and it shows my macy's cc showing as a charge off instead of IIB and that only a portion has been charged off and now shows a balance as of Jan. 09. Our discharge was in Oct. 2008. Now the account is showing 150 days past due when it should not have been late at all. I tried to dispute through Experian but Macy's said it was reporting correctly and would not change the reporting.

Who should I contact to get this corrected? Experian? Macy's? Attorney? Isn't what Macy's is doing illegal since all debt was included in the BK? Also, we were never late even once prior to the filing date in July 08.

Thanks everyone, any suggestions would be appreciated.

Send a copy of your discharge to Macy's as well if you're really concerned about it, but just disputing with Experian should be enough.

Don't worry, you'll get it sorted out!

It looks like you already did dispute this with Experian - did you send a copy of your BK paperwork showing IIB? I don't see how Macy's can say they are reporting correctly, and if Experian won't remove it, you may need to talk to your attorney.

Trixie007 is correct. If Experian won't budge, you have to contact the lender (Macy's) directly to have it changed (and copy Experian on that letter).
