I found a 2006 Honda Civic on there for sale for $7900 or so while the trade-in value on this car is $11,000.
I just hope I can find another deal like this by the time I have money saved up.

Here's the car I was talking about. See for yourself. Go to KBB and do a trade-in look up on it:
2006 Honda Civic 39k miles, $7900
Desc: 2006 HONDA CIVIC, Ice cold A/C, Looks & runs great, Low mileage, very reliable car, drives excellent, has driven more than 15,000 miles, has florida rebuilt title. $7900 or best offer. call (904) 327-7267.
This is what a dealer should be PAYING YOU for trading in this car:
Excellent $11,100
Good $10,450
Fair $9,300
Private sale or retail would be higher.
Problem is, anytime I have cash, I NEVER find deals like this.

Places like this sell rebuilt engines
It's almost like having a new engine put in.Filed: 11/25/08 - chp 7 no asset

$100/mo. on an '09 car is CHEAP!!
Thing is, will GM be around for parts in the future? I certainly hope so. That 100,000 mile drivetrain warranty they offer could end up being used as toilet paper if they go bankrupt and go out. That's one of the reasons why I'd be happy to give my Saturn back and get another car. Look at all of the people who own Daewoo's. They have a hell of a time getting "dealer only" parts for it. Not everything can be bought at Discount Auto or Auto Zone. Some parts are dealer-only items. And being that the dealers are gone, sometimes the car cannot be fixed. Then you have to hope somebody is selling the part on Ebay for your Daewoo.
GM makes nice cars now. I don't understand why the sales are so poor.

A web page was created for this car for the body shop who helped fix the car... Check it out here:

The Honda Civic in that picture shows a CLEAN CAR FAX since it was not reported.
I wonder how many other accidents are fixed and not reported?
This is the whole reason I've been buying cars brand new all my life. Yeah, it sucks to have all that depreciation, but at least I know the car wasn't wrecked.

DM, earlier you were saying your wife wants this and that, and it's causing ya'll to argue. You've never mentioned having young children, so, as a working woman myself, I must demand to know why the wife isn't working? If she wants all these things, she can go out and work for them, just like everyone else. I know a marriage is a partnership, so what's yours is hers, but seriously, there's a line to be drawn. You're trying to draw that line, and she still wants an expensive car. Next time, ask her how she plans on paying for said car!!!Chapter 7 Filed: 12/22/08
