Wow, can't believe there's that many people chatting about oil!

Anyways, I am also going to be changing my oil for the first time by myself, I have supported the local valvoline too long... from 65 bucks to whatever the synth oil/filter costs.

And changing it 8x more is cheaper?!?

Sounds like you're not very good with math. Just because something costs less doesn't mean it's cheaper.

If you change your oil 8x in 25,000 miles and pay $26 at the Vavoline place, that 8 x $26 = $208. That's about 3 or 4x more expensive than the Amsoil.

        So VALVOLINE COSTS.

For some reason, the light bulbs just don't seem to be going on with people on this forum.

        I give up.

Let's just drop it. Nobody seems to be getting it. Please don't post any more on the subject.

You crack me up, I think people hear ya, but people will do what they want. However if you convince just one person, you have done a good thing. In fact you made a great point about paying cash for your car, and well, I heard ya!

I just went over our basic numbers... and even without a rent/mortgage and just a $300/mo. car payment, are total expenses are at $1700 right now. This makes me sick to my stomach.

hey do you have quicken? If not I highly recommend it! I know when I think about bills etc. I feel oddly better when using quicken... Maybe's it psychological but it being so organized makes me feel less PO'd about it.

Haven't used it in like 10 years. I have to install it again. Lawyer told me since I work as a contractor, I will need to submit a profit/loss sheet now for the Ch. 7.
