credit card charges

does anybody know when credit cards pay a business? Example... you use your credit card to pay for dental and dr visits how long until they get paid?
I paid for a bill at our family dentist which was 3000. and paid the pediatrician also but that was i think 100. its been a couple months ago and i dont want our pediatrition and family dentist refusing us or hating us or even knowing!

I think I can answer this for you. My husband and I have a small business and we accept credit cards. What happens is that I run the card, and about two business days later the funds are in my account. If the person that gave me the card files bankruptcy or doesn't pay his credit card bill, that does not affect me at all, and I have absolutely no knowledge of any of that. The funds are not taken back from me. Essentially, the customer gives me the card, it is authorized or declined, and that's it. So don't worry, they won't know that you don't pay your credit card bill and they won't know you filed bk.

Unless you dispute the charge, it's totally between the merchant and his card processor.

In other words, he gets an authorization number and he gets paid.

does anybody know if the one year waiting period applies to a 3000 dentist bill or is that different?

Is the dentist a friend or relative?

I know the Trustee asked me each name of someone on my creditor list. For example, John Jones - who is he to you? Etc. down the list (not that there were that many) - but if the Dentist is a friend or relative - wait a year

no he is not a friend our family just likes him and as one of us has gum disease that is alot of visits and we dont want to be banned from there!
