    More newbie questions

Hello again all you smart people....lol...

Ok, i decided on a lawyer through a referral. I'm going to put a retainer and pay over the next 3-4 months and then file. SHould i make any credit card payments during this time? All or just a few? He suggested we make some 'token' payments. From what i have read, i guess, the thing to do would be NOT to make payments and save that money, either for attorney fees or to sparingly use.

As far as assets, IS this Pacer thing helpful? What does anyone do about listing their assets? This equates to what it could be sold at a garage sale?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,

If your attorney is suggesting you make some token payments, he must see a red flag with cc use. Whether you make token payments or not depends on many factors.

Any balance transfers, advances, large amounts charged recently? Any recent, large transactions/charges that you have made NO payments on?

For example, I had a balance transfer into checking account and decided to file a few months later, so I made at least 5 payments before I stopped paying.

btw, PACER is the public access system where you can track your case after you file. I personally don't use it as my attorney calls me with every change to the case. I think it makes people more nervous than not, except when you have a terrible lawyer.
