I'm doing the hamster dance all by myself, here! Honestly, though, I could have been the poster child for a smooth-as-silk bankruptcy process. I filed on October 26, had the 341 meeting on December 1, 2008. It lasted about 10 minutes and trustee asked for a few more documents from my bank accounts, continuing the 341 meeting for about 3 weeks. When I mailed the papers to her 2 days later, she cancelled the continuation and marked the 341 meeting as concluded. A few weeks into december, my mortgage holder filed a motion for relief from the stay, which was granted.
Notice of "no asset" filed around December 4, 2008. Then, nothing. Not a peep for 60 days and on day 64 or so: Discharged. 5 days later: CLOSED.
I am keeping my entire tax refund, my lawyer wrote me a "we're done here; good luck in the future" and my life begins anew. Beautiful.
Oh, and: my income was above the median, but my lawyer (also a trustee for this court) knew the rules and how this court works and we passed the asset test no problem. The MEANSNO flag was put up almost immediately and stayed there throughout.
So, although there are some horror stories out there (and on here!), I am an example of how quick and easy it can go. Good luck to everyone!!!!!
