My sister in law filed chpt 7 and was discharged and closed on the 4th. she has yet to file her taxes and is concerned that the trustee will take it. Can they still take your refund if your case is closed?

As far as I understand it, everything that comes after the filing doesn't matter... unless you were expecting it the refund and didn't disclose it.
In other words, if she is filing the taxes now and discover that she gets a refund, it shouldn't have any bearing on the BK case.
If the tax return and the knowledge of the refund, is known before the filing than it should be disclosed. -
I filed in Oct and so did she....but they are taking my return and I just found out about it.Comment
