    Employer Provided Car Allowance

My employer provides a car allowance which is included in my income and I know I can not exclude iton Form 22A. However, the reason for the allowance is I am a road warrior and drive approximately 30,000 miles each year for my employer.

Can I take an additional Expense Claim on the 22A for the unreimbursed business related expenses associated with my vehicle? The allowance provided by the company pales in comparison to the IRS's mileage deduction and the difference is deductible on my itemized 1040 Schedule A (to the extent it exceeds 2% of my adjusted gross income).

Any suggestions and advice are greatly appreciated!
Well, I did. Every one of 'em. Mostly I remember the last one. The wild finish. A guy standing on a station platform in the rain with a comical look in his face because his insides have been kicked out. -Rick
