Either Pacer is too advanced for me....

...or DH's case is just not listed yet. Does anyone have a general idea as to how long between filing and it showing up?

It should have showed up right away. Are you going to bk section and putting in your last name and last four digits SS number? Should be there. Do you have a case number? 'Hub
If I knew it all, would I be here?? Hang in there = Retained attorney 8-06, Filed 12-28-07, Discharge 8-13-08, Finally CLOSED 11-3-09, 3-31-10 AP Dismissed, Informed by incompetent lawyer of CLOSED status, October 14, 2010.

Ok. Found it. Obviously, attorney lied AGAIN about when he was going to file. I hate that my DH hired this guy. Or, I should say, I hate that DH's dad hired this guy. DH paid in full about a month ago, and has gotten nothing but a run-around ever since. I told DH last week that I would call and ask for my money back. I mean---COME ON!

As my bud 'CatHub wrote, the case number is rendered instantly upon filing. As a matter of fact, file a case in any Court and you'll get a case number immediately.

The only time you may not instantly get a case number is on emergency filing that are done by FAX when PACER is down. Then the case number is issued first thing in the morning when the Clerk's office opens, and they receive the payment by 11:00AM that next morning.

I wonder if that lawyer even uses BestCase, which will automatically file once all the information is complete!

I know in my case I thought my case wasn't listed, but then I signed out and signed in again later (in the right court district) and was able to find it.

Ahhh, the old logged into the wrong district and/or Court problem! Got me once too! (I was logged into the District Court, not the Bankruptcy Court. )
