Request for Courtesy Notification of Electronic Filing - What?

    Hi there,

I check PACER and just saw a law firm filed a request for courtesy notification of electronic filing. What is this? There was nothing on the form explaining what that meant. I have no idea who the attorney firm is that filed the form. I am 5 days past the 60 day mark so I know that creditors can't object any longer. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

    Thanks again for everything.

I had one of those also and was puzzled. The weird thing was that it was a creditor who had been paid a year in full before we filed. I have no idea how they knew we filed or why they cared what happened with our BK.

Is it possible that an account was in collections and they handed it over to an attorney? Or maybe you're letting go of a house and the lawyer handles the company's foreclosure?

      Help!

Thanks for the reply. Nothing was in collections that I know of. However, now that you mention it, I am letting a house go. That definitely could be a possibility. If that is, why would they file this notification form? They can't object any longer.

      Thanks

        Maybe

it is from the house and they just want to be updated on what day discharge is given so then they can start foreclosure?

        any sign of discharge yet?

B65, thanks so much for the reply. That does make sense now. Any little thing on PACER can sure make you nervous.

Day 67 and no discharge yet. No objections either and status is still "awaiting discharge" so I guess I just need to be patient which is VERY difficult. Wish they would hurry.
